Stock Description: Here we have a fantastic large group of homebred bulling heifers that will be 320 kg liveweight now, big enough to serve now or leave to November for August calving. They are all late spring 23 born (April) they have been purposely managed to turn into an autumn block. Circumstances have changed and the entire unselected group are now for sale. They are all Ai sired by leading Irish Holstein/Friesian sires or by Viking Red sires, bulls selected for a balance production, milk solids, health traits and functional type. They are out of medium size (550-kg+) cows that are predominantly Irish Holstein/Friesian breeding. These heifers are strong well grown heifers with width and strength throughout with good deep frames on strong feet and legs.
Production Capacity: The herd is a spring grass based herd performing very well over 6200 litres 530 kg milk solids on just over 1 tonne concentrate. The genetics are there for these heifers to yield 7-8000 litres in an autumn block or more intensive system.
TB Status: The herd has never had a case of TB on farm, the herd is Johnes monitored with no heifers out of known red cows.
Unique Selling Point: Very rare to be able to purchase a large group homebred Ai sired heifers.
