Consultation

Grasstec provide a consultation service to farmers to assess the existing farmyard layout and its functionality. We will discuss herd numbers, expansion plans and expectations on how the yard will operate. The consultation stage is key to assess the current operation of the yard before any new projects begin.

Survey

We will perform a topographical survey of the farmyard using both ground and aerial measurement equipment. An accurate existing farmyard layout drawing is created from the survey data. We use drones, GPS and Total Stations to prepare surveys of sites.

Initial Option Layout

Design options are prepared for the required elements of the proposed farmyard. The most advantageous option is decided on taking into account: the topography of site for drainage and gravity flow of slurry, existing buildings, the position of the parlour relative to paddocks and winter accommodation, cow walking routes, slurry storage and silage pit location.

Final Design Layout

Once the final layout is established, we provide detailed 2D designs and an option of 3D models, allowing you to visualize the completed project. Our team collaborates closely with you throughout the process, ensuring that every aspect of the design meets your expectations.
