Stock Description: Entire group of homebred spring calving heifers for sale due to change in farming system. These heifers are very well grown and a credit to the owner. All are AI sired by leading sires from Genus and LIC a mix of Holstein/Friesian and cross breds. They are due to start calving from the start of February and were served with dairy Ai followed by running with dairy stock bull's.
Production Capacity: The herd is a spring calving herd with a high stocking rate maximising milk from grass. Annually producing over 5000 litres from a young herd with high milk solids 4.95% fat and 3.86% protein. Just 1 tonne of feed fed in the parlour.
Age & Lactation: The heifers are all Feb-Mar 23 born, from the front of the calving block. They are well grown ready to calve down at 23-24 months of age.
TB Status: The herd is located in the low risk area of Wales and is tested every 12 months. The heifers will be pre movement tested.
Health Status: The herd is Johnes monitored with no heifers out of known red cows, they are vaccinated for both BVD and IBR.
Unique Selling Point: What is unique about this group is that it is the entire in calf heifer group and all homebred only being sold due to change in farming system.
