The box is rectangular in shape, and the shelf in front of the entrance hole allows the owl to land and eat. An access hole is provided for cleaning. The box is made of 9mm exterior plywood, the roof is felted. The boxes are painted with a water-based wood preservative.
The shelf which is fitted on the attached small shelf in front of the entrance hole allows the babies to explore and land more easily when returning to the nest. The shelf is made of 9mm exterior plywood.
