Stock Description: Probably the perfect example of the Irish grazing Holstein Friesian type – medium in size approximately 530-540 kgs mid-lactation liveweight. Cows are in very good condition. Calving in February and March, initially to Friesian AI to early March with the final few to Angus bull. 100% AI sired with strong emphasis on DAUGHTER PROVEN genetics over the generations.
Almost half of this offering are in their 1st lactation with no cow greater than 4th lactation. All are milking in 4 quarters.
Production Capacity: For a black & white herd with NO jersey influence, the solids percentages are exceptional. Several of these sale cows recording >5% fat and no less than 11 recording >4% protein. Important to note that these cows are on a highly stock milking & grazing platform at circa 5cows/ha. There is a lot of competition within the herd and residuals are kept low – and so achieving such high solids is absolute testament to their hardiness & genetics. It is beyond doubt that these cows will perform high again on a lower stocking rate.
Age & Lactations: 13 first calvers, 7 second calvers, 4 third calvers, 7 fourth calvers.
