Stock Description: A group of heifers that are best of both worlds. Source herd historically of small/medium sized cows with strong Jersey influence but has gradually moved towards Friesian genetics in the last few years. The result is a stronger cow with high capacity to increase litres output and still enough Jersey influence to to drive high solids percentages - ideal combination. 100% AI sired and with a strong emphasis on daughter proven bulls with some genomic in the mix. In calf to Angus AI & Angus bull and recent scanning shows 17 calving in February and 4 in March with everything calved by 10th March.
Production Capacity: Grass based low concentrate system in the background shows the source herd delivering almost 500kgs MS from only 500-700kgs concentrate depending on the year. Note the high solids % - this herd will realise at least top 5% milk price this Autumn from bonuses. Average heifer EBI average of €257, with the majority predicting +20kgMS or more with high PTA's also.
