Stock Description: Very nice group of 125 Holstein Friesian Feb-Mar born calves, these heifers are in great condition well on target for May service or would be ideal to convert into autumn calvers. The herd was originally Holsteins then crossed with LIC Kiwi cross bulls then crossed with Irish Holstein Frisian from Genus. This has left a very durable 550-600 kg mature cow that delivers milk solids but will do the litres also.
Production Capacity: The herd is spring calving herd run on a extensive grazing system and cubicle housed in winter and achieving great results; 6140 litres, 4.5% fat, 3.7% pro and 518kg milk solids sold per cow per year. The genetics are there for these to go into a more intensive system and achieve higher performance.
TB Status: The farm has been clear of TB for 15+ years and is located in the low TB risk area of Wales.
Health Status: The milking herd is fully vaccinated the calves have had no vaccines to date. Strict Johnes monitoring is in place and no calves are out of known Johnes cows.
Unique Selling Point: A large group of homebred heifers from a low risk TB area and bred for milk solids and milk litres.
