Stock Description: Complete herd dispersal. The herd is predominantly made up of small stature Holsteins x Norwegian red, this has bred a robust 600-650 kg liveweight cow that has width and strength yet maintains dairy character. There is a proportion of the herd that is Irish Holstein Friesian x NZ genetics, these cows will be 540-560 kg live-weight these cows are some off the younger cows and are still maturing they are developing into a milky medium size cow with high milk solids that have yet to reach their full potential.
Production Capacity: Herd performance is very creditable 7020 litres the cows are on a very simple system utilizing grazed grass as much as possible, the diet is grazed grass/grass silage and concentrate fed in the parlour. These cows do have the capacity and genetics to produce more on a more intensive system.
Unique Selling Point: Herd health ticks all the boxes, they are located in a tb4 area with the whole herd passing its test in Oct 23, the herd is BVD negative, all cows are individually Johnes tested with only 1% with high reading that are not included in the sale. The herd is milk-recorded 4 times per year with individual cell counts.
